She was raised in Brooklyn, NY and eventually ventured upstate to obtain her master’s degree in social work from the University at Buffalo. Shortly after, she earned her doctorate degree in social work specializing in trauma-informed education and leadership from the University of St. Thomas. Brittany has been practicing as a Clinical Social Worker for the past 10 years, providing individual, couples and family therapy to various populations. She specializes in treating trauma survivors and those who have present concerns surrounding anxiety, depression, family dynamics, couple’s issues, personality disorders and major life transitions. Along with Brittany’s clinical work, she practices part-time as an adjunct professor and enjoys facilitating psychoeducation groups. In the past, she has facilitated support groups, interpersonal effectiveness groups, domestic violence groups, and mindfulness groups. Therapeutic Approach: Brittany is committed to practicing from a trauma-informed framework where she incorporates the six trauma-informed principles into her sessions. Brittany values creating a safe space for her clients to thrive, establishing a trustworthy, individualized professional relationship with each of her clients, while promoting and embracing peer support, collaboration, choice, and cultural awareness. In addition to practicing from a trauma awareness lens, Brittany has extensive training in dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, strength-based education and motivational interviewing. Brittany prioritizes living a well-balanced life, where optimal health is sustained. When she is not counseling, you can find her enjoying some down time relaxing in the sauna, singing, hiking, reading and traveling out of the country with family and friends.
